Description
SAIL produces iron and steel at five integrated plants and three special steel plants, located principally in the eastern and central regions of India and situated close to domestic sources of raw materials. Since its inception in 1973, much before ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ became a buzzword, SAIL put in place systems for socio-economic development of the neighbourhoods and communities amidst which its plants and units operate.
